How to write good content
There are different types of content on the web, each having a style different from the other. What separates a good content from the bad ones are:
- Fresh and updated ideas
- Providing answer to a problem
- Interactive style
- Readability
All these may sound easy to do but the truth is that you need careful planning to write content conforming to these parameters. Let us see how these parameters will help your content achieve high quality:
- Fresh and updated ideas: Unless you offer something unique or fresh to the viewers, they will not stick to your site. It may sound difficult to offer unique content always. When you can’t think of anything new to write about, pick a subject that suits your business objective/products and analyze the same from a fresh angle, which no one has done till date. Your viewers will surely love it. Another thing to consider is keeping your content updated with the latest developments. If your approach is stale and does not match the current scenario, visitors to your site won’t take long to drift away from your site.
- Providing answer to a problem: To keep your viewers rooted to your site, offer a solution to their problem/query. Once they know that you have the expertise to help them find what they need, they will keep coming back to your site. These people may also offer word-of-the-mouth publicity or say positive things about your site, which in turn can bring first-time visitors to your site.
- Interactive style: The content of your site should focus on the visitors. You don’t write content for yourself but for those who will come to your site. So, write in an interactive style that engages your visitors. If possible, you can also allow them the chance to give feedback or participate in your discussion forums. All these activities will breed confidence in your prospective clients and generate sales.
- Readability: Keep your article reader-friendly. Use legible fonts, short sentences and paragraphs to keep the look clutter free. Use headers, sub headers, bold fonts and other techniques to make the important points stand out from the rest. Few people actually read the whole content. A majority of the web browsers scan content to find what they need. So, you need to attract their attention by highlighting the correct words/phrases. However, don’t overdo things or that may scare away your viewers.
Keep these points in mind while writing content for your site. Take some time out to revise and re-write any part of the article you have written so that common errors of grammar, punctuation and spelling etc are not there. With a little practice and research on content writing, you will surely bring commendable traffic to your web site.
